Frequently asked
What does Non-IBR mean?
Under the Indian Boiler Regulations, a boiler whose steam-generating volume is under 25 litres is outside the Act. Our Revotech, Minimatic and Nanomatic steam boilers are coil-type units below that limit. You don't need IBR registration, annual inspection, a separate boiler house or a certified boiler attendant.
Steam boiler or thermic fluid heater?
Choose steam for direct heating, sterilisation, humidification and anything below about 180 °C. A thermic fluid heater gives 250–300 °C at near-atmospheric pressure, which suits reactors, stenters, corrugators and hot-oil presses where steam would need very high pressure.
Which fuel is cheapest to run?
It depends on your local prices. Solid fuel is usually cheapest per kcal, then PNG, then LPG or diesel, with electric heaters the most expensive. For hot water up to 80 °C, a heat pump usually beats all of them. Our calculators show running cost per day on each fuel at your own prices.
Can you convert my existing boiler to gas?
Yes. As Riello's authorised representative since 2001, we convert boilers, thermic fluid heaters, ovens and dryers from oil or electricity to PNG or LPG, and we can lay the gas piping as well.
What do you need from me for a quotation?
The duty (steam kg/hr, kcal/hr or litres of water per day), the working pressure or temperature, the fuel available at site, and your location. If you only know the process, the calculators will work out the heat load first.
