Many plants that need steam assume they also need everything that comes with an IBR boiler: registration, annual inspections, a separate boiler house and a certified attendant on every shift. For most process loads up to 1,000 kg/hr, they don't.
The rule in one line
A boiler whose steam-generating coil holds less than 25 litres of water is outside the purview of the Indian Boiler Regulations (IBR). Neotech's coil-type boilers (Revotech, Revotech-G and Minimatic) and Nanomatic steam generators are all built below that limit.
What that means at site
- No IBR registration and no statutory annual inspection of the boiler.
- No separate boiler house. The unit is packaged on one base frame, and needs only water, power, fuel, steam and chimney connections.
- No certified boiler attendant. The boiler starts and stops automatically against the steam pressure set on its pressure switch.
- Steam in 3 to 5 minutes from cold. Forced circulation through a small water volume means very little to heat up before steam is available.
How small water volume stays safe
With so little water in the coil, explosion possibilities are nil. Every unit is also fitted with a flame-failure device in the sequence controller, low-level control, an audio-visual alarm, an explosion door and a limit switch on the blow-down line.
Sizes and fuels
| Range | Steam output | Pressure | Fuel |
|---|---|---|---|
| Revotech | 300 – 1,000 kg/hr | 15 kg/cm² | LDO / HSD / FO |
| Revotech-G | 300 – 1,000 kg/hr | 15 kg/cm² | PNG / LPG, or dual fuel |
| Minimatic | 50 – 200 kg/hr | 15 kg/cm² | HSD / PNG / LPG |
| Nanomatic | 10 – 190 kg/hr | 4 – 6 kg/cm² | Electric / gas / oil |
What we need from you
Coil boilers depend on good feed water. Our scope of supply specifies hardness below 5 ppm, pH 8.5–9.5, TDS up to 400 ppm and feed water no hotter than 30 °C, plus a 415 V three-phase supply with double earthing.
Not sure how much steam you need? The steam calculator works it out from your process and names the model.
