Size your thermic fluid heater
Add up your process heat loads and get the Neotherm model, fluid circulation rate and fuel cost for oil, solid fuel, gas or electric heating.
How this is worked out
Heat load: the sum of connected loads, or for a batch kcal/hr = kg × Cp × (T2 − T1) × 60 ÷ minutes. 1 kW = 860 kcal/hr.
Required heater capacity = load × (1 + losses) × (1 + margin). The thermic fluid outlet must be at least 20–30 °C above the process temperature.
Selection: oil (LDO / FO / HSD) → Neotherm NT, up to 300 °C; solid fuel → Neotherm C NTC, up to 300 °C; electric → Neotherm E NTE, up to 280 °C and 70,000 kcal/hr; PNG / LPG → Neotherm fitted with a Riello gas burner (engineered to order).
Circulation ≈ kcal/hr ÷ (800 kg/m³ × 0.6 kcal/kg·°C × 25 °C) m³/hr, using a typical mineral thermic oil and a 25 °C rise across the heater.
Fuel cost = load ÷ (NCV × efficiency): oil 88 %, solid fuel 70 %, electric 98 %. NCV: coal 4,500, wood 3,300, briquette 4,000 kcal/kg.
